Monday! I was receiving football updates late into the evening and learned that the superbowl is now set as it should be.... Patriots v.s. Giants! Can't wait for Feb 5! I'll refrain, for the moment, from getting involved in the pregame hype and just say bring it on! Yesterday was a day spent walking down to the Playa de Concha! The sun actually decided to make an appearence and made for a spectatular walk. It was busy with sailers, standup paddle boarders, horse races on the beach, musicians, para sailers, cayakers and hundreds of walkers and gawkers. We walked all the way to the end and viewed the wind sculptures and then took the cable car to the top of Mount Igueldo . The view is the one that you see in all the pictures of San Sebastian.
Staci wasn't thrilled w/ the prospect of getting in the cable car but she threw caution to the wind and got in. There is one car up top and one at the bottom with each serving as a counter weight for the other. Straight up! Views are terrific. Back down and halfway back down the beach our tour guide, Senorita Megan, allowed us to stop in for much need sustainance. We ate at a restaurant right on the beach and sat and talked and talked. Sangria and eats! Muy Bien! By now, it was getting to be 3:00 and we had to get back to prepare our meal for Megan's host family. They were coming around 6:00 and we had much to do. We had brought cheeses and Soppressatas as well as breads for the starter and Staci made Lemon Fish, mac and cheese for the kids, potatos and mixed grilled vegetibles. Everything came out perfect. Roberto brought some wine from his hometown in the Rioja region and we enjoyed several bottles! Dessert could best be described as french toast and was made by Eva. It's now 9:30 and the kids have to get home for school tomorrow. For the record, I cleaned up! We were in bed by 12:00. Buenos Noches! I am attempting to teach Ryan how to use the camera so I apologize for any blurry images.
